Year 3 Class Information
Class Teacher: Miss Cutler | Teaching Assistants: Mrs. Brailsford and Mrs. Baeza
This term's focus will be on spelling and reading. The children will be encouraged to read at home at least 3 times a week and have their reading record books signed by a adult who has listened to them read.
Our class text will be 'How to train your dragon' by Cressida Cowell. If you can get hold of a copy, it would be great if you shared the reading of your text with your child.
Spellings will come home on Friday and will be linked to spelling rules which have been taught during the previous week. There will be a test on Thursday afternoon.
The children will be learning their times tables on a weekly basis. They will need to try and learn them in a 'quick fire fashion rather than being able to count by rote:
ie 6 x 2 = ?
7 x3 = ?
Please support them with this by practising at home.
Will be on Tuesday afternoons and themed around the topic, Vikings where possible.
